Adrenal Insufficiency United

Adrenal Insufficiency United is working to improve the lives and empower those affected by adrenal insufficiency through advocacy, awareness, collaboration, education, research and support.

AwarenessAwareness comes from telling our stories. Share AIU’s website, FB page and other social media platforms with your family and friends and ask them to do the same. You can help raise awareness in a variety of ways from sharing a cup of coffee with a friend to hosting your own awareness event. Find a way that works for you. AIU will help provide the education and materials needed to start having conversations with those you know. We welcome blog posts, poems and drawings from those touched by adrenal insufficiency. SupportAIU provides has several online support groups and can make referrals to many more. There is no reason for anyone to go through this alone. Due to our large presence on FB a friend is just a click away. We’re also happy to schedule phone calls to speak one on one, just keep in mind that we are not doctors and will not offer medical advice. Rather we’ll help you find and understand the information needed to help you become an active participant in your own care and treatment.ProtocolsAIU applauds the dedication and sacrifices made by those in the medical field. We want to help paramedics and ED staff identify and treat adrenal crises confidently and expeditiously. Through the efforts of our members, several states and/or counties have adopted adrenal crisis protocols, and more are in the process. We celebrate that these changes have already saved lives, as attested by both EMS and ED providers. Students must be safe at school in order to be successful in their education. Therefore, we also work with schools to ensure staff are trained and able to provide the support students need.
