Maltese Rescue was formed for the charitable purpose of rescuing Maltese and Maltese mixes which are homeless or soon-to-be homeless, including those found in animal shelters and those relinquished by their owners. The dogs are provided with care, training and necessary medical care including spay/neutering. Maltese rescue also focuses on education of the public regarding breed characteristics, responsible dog ownership, training and humane care of a Maltese.
Maltese rescue relies on approved foster families for the care and training of all rescued Maltese. Our rescue dogs requiring special care due to illness, abuse or injuries are placed in foster homes with a person skilled in caring for a small dog with special needs. When the dog’s health and socialization stabilize all rescued Maltese are made available for adoption. Rescue dogs are listed on www.petfinder.com and www.adoptapet.com
