Nevada SPCA rescues animals in need, helps them heal broken hearts, broken spirits and broken bones, and then adopts them into loving, forever homes.
The Nevada SPCA takes in animals of all species. We take in the big, the little, the furry and even the follicly challenged. If they have four legs, 3 legs, 2 legs, paws, hooves and/or webbed feet they are all deserving in our eyes and we truly believe all animals that come in our front doors are adorable. Being a no kill animal shelter, we take pride in caring for our seniors and getting them in the best home possible to live out their twilight years. It’s very traumatic for an animal to lose his/her home, therefore, we are committed to keeping a bonded pair together. We believe that they should not be separated from their best friend. During the transition time coming into the shelter bonded pairs need each other for comfort and companionship so we will seek out an amazing home for them in order to stay together forever. We also get our share of dogs that are frightened, abused, neglected and scared, along with dogs that could use some help with their manners and playing nice with others. We do our very best to take an animal from abandoned to adored by bringing back the basics in animal training and healing the broken hearts of the abused. With the help of our staff and seasoned volunteers we allow a potential adopter to interact with our animals with their entire family, including children and any pets they already have in their home. Our staff encourages education on new species a family may want to bring into their home such as rabbits, rats, hamsters or guinea pigs. We will allow the family to come back as many times as necessary to get the proper education and make sure they feel comfortable before bringing home a new family member. The day a family decides to open their home to our animals is a very exciting day for us all!
