The mission of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association is to maintain and enhance the Tahoe Rim Trail system, practice and inspire stewardship, and preserve access to the natural beauty of the Lake Tahoe region.
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) is the 501(c)3 responsible for maintaining the over 200 mile Tahoe Rim Trail system for the hiking, biking and equestrian pleasure of the Tahoe and northern Nevada community. Every year we manage hundreds of volunteers to tackle new projects to reroute sections of old trail, clear trees, and enhance the current trail experience for our over 400,000 annual users.We also offer outdoor education and community engagement opportunities such as guided hikes, monthly Trail Talks, and various youth programs. These programs call attention to backcountry ethics, Leave No Trace Principles, and ways for trail users to steward the places they love.
