Located in the diverse province of Limon, Tortuguero is where the sea turtles come to nest—a true adventure for the wildlife fan. During the summer season the green sea turtles come here and understandably the small town of Tortuguero is very protective of this endangered species.
Not accessible by car, the village of Tortuguero greets visitors who come in by boat and/or plane. It is well worth the visit to see what truly is the sea turtle paradise of the world. Rainforest abounds here and so tourists do get a chance to see a variety of other animals as well from monkeys to hundreds of bird species to numerous kinds of amphibians.

    Again, the man draw here are the turtle nesting grounds. Visitors come from all over to experience it. The park is also a sanctuary for several other animals including macaws, jaguars and sloths. There are guided tours of the nesting grounds and it is said that one of the best ways to see them is by boat.
