Your guide will tell you all about the origins of this neighborhood, how the favelas came to be, and how they fit into the one-of-a-kind history and culture of Rio. Next, you will go to the Vidigal favela. Local guides will tell you how the people of the favelas encourage each other to conquer challenging living conditions. Appreciate the natural beauty of the region as well as the historical centers, culture, and art of the communities. Also, you can learn about the theater group Nós no Morro, "Bailes funk," and other cultural features of favelas. From a lookout point, you will be able to see amazing perspectives of some of the best landmarks of Rio such as Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redemmer, Ipanema, São Conrado, and Copacabana.
