While serving in the Peace Corps in rural Panama, the founders were working on community tourism projects and realized that they wanted to create a better way to connect purposeful travelers with authentic, local experiences. "Keteka" is an indigenous Panamanian word that means "to get close to" and that's our goal, to bring you closer to your destination's culture, food, people, and natural environment.
This Full Day Tour Package Includes A Chocolate Tour And Tasting, White Water Rafting On The Balsa River, And Lunch.
This full day tour begins with a chocolate tour and tasting. You will learn the history of chocolate in the area, including its role in the lives of the indigenous, its adoption by Europeans, and the market today. You will participate in a hands-on demonstration of the chocolate making process and learn how the cacao bean becomes the chocolate you see in markets all over the world. You will also have a chance to mix the chocolate with exotic ingredients like natural nutmeg, cinnamon, chilli powder, and Jamaica flower. And of course, you will get a chance to try some delicious chocolate!
Once you have satisfied your sweet tooth, you will spend two exhilirating hours on the Balsa River, rafting over white water rapids and enjoying the gorgeous surrounding scenery. You will also have a chance to swim in the river and enjoy fresh tropical fruits and cold drinks on the bank of the river.
For lunch, you will enjoy a traditional Costa Rican meal on a traditional country farm.
