Sure, there aren't any monkeys, but this rain forest also avoids gigantic spiders and snakes; so that's pretty cool.
Experience the wilderness surrounding Mount Baker and the skyline of the North Cascades!
904 G Ave, Anacortes, WA 98221
This 9-hr Adventure begins at sea level and takes you to the end of the road, at the rooftop of the North Cascades. The Mount Baker Scenic Byway follows alongside the pristine, alder-lined Nooksak River leading you into the magnificent PNW old-growth rainforest of the North Cascades. Impressive old firs and cedars, accompanied by huge moss-covered maples welcome you into the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. From Artist Point, the views of Mt Baker & Mt Shuksan, their glaciers, their forested valleys, their backcountry lakes, and the endless peaks of the North Cascades and the Canadian Coast Mountains are simply breathtaking!
For the next several hours experience the vastness, the timelessness, the serenity, the solitude, the magnificence of Mount Baker’s Wilderness as we walk around Artist Point and Bagley Lakes. For the more daring, a 2-mi hike along Table Mountain's scree slope is offered. Wildflowers adorn the alpine meadows during Summer, which then fill with blueberries for picking in Fall. Time for lunch and a stop to photograph Mt Shuksan's reflection on Picture Lake (perhaps one of the most photographed lake in the world) are on the agenda.
Includes pickup at local hotels, marinas, residences, Anacortes ferry & Amtrak Cascades Mount Vernon train station.
Does not include lunch nor gratuities.
Available July - mid October, 9:30am - 6:30pm.
