Just east of Phoenix, Scottsdale, is an exciting and energetic city that has become a hugely popular place to visit. A true combination of old and new, the downtown district transports tourists back to the city’s western roots. Buildings and historic homes from the early 20th century give the city a distinct historic feel. While the emergence of galleries, shops, restaurants and thriving retail centers have also made Scottsdale a fun city with a highly contemporary vibe. Once described as a desert version of South Beach, you know the night life has got to be good.
For the outdoor lover, there are hiking trails galore in and around the city. Nearby Camel Back mountain is a very popular stop. And for those who can never get enough golf—this is the place to be! A city filled with near 250,000 people, Scottsdale most definitely has something to keep visitors and residents alike on the go.

    There is no shortage of museums in this eclectic city. Old Town Scottsdale itself possesses an almost museum-like quality. You should also check out the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of the West which brings you back to the city’s Old West roots, and there is even the Penske Racing Museum for those car enthusiasts.

  • RESTAURANTS

    Known as something of a fine dining mecca, Scottsdale is where the foodies go to try the very best in Arizona cuisine. From upscale steakhouses to unique concept restaurants, the food of Scottsdale is something you definitely have to experience firsthand.

  • TALIESIN WEST

    One of America’s most prominent architects decided to spend his winters right here in Scottsdale. Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Taliesin West (now fittingly an architecture school and museum) was constructed of local rocks, wood and is a study in lines and light. Visitors get a look inside one of the most famous Arizona residences ever constructed.

  • SPRING TRAINING

    Plenty come to Scottsdale to check out spring training. The San Francisco Giants practice in Scottsdale Stadium. The stadium also hosts a minor league team: the Scottsdale Scorpions.

THE WEATHER
  • Winter is very nice in Scottsdale. The area draws in visitors during the winter months with the sunny days that reach near 70 degrees.

  • Spring is wonderful time to visit for golf and spring training. April temps are in the low-80s. Spring is the dry season (which says a lot for Scottsdale).

  • Summers are smoking hot. With temperatures pushing towards 110 degrees, it is simply too hot to do much outside.

  • Fall is nice. In October, temps drop back down to the mid-80s.
