Did you know that Yuma is considered the sunniest place in the world? The sun shines here about 90% of the day. Plenty of sunshine and warm days make this a very energetic city filled with a ton of activities. Visitors come for the history, to enjoy the Colorado River that runs through the northern part of the city, and to check out the nation’s largest segment of inland sand dunes—where none other than Star Wars was filmed.
The main street represents the heart of the downtown, where tourists can enjoy “old Yuma.” Walk along the river, enjoy the eclectic shops and restaurants, take in a show or stop and have a drink. The quaint feel of the historic downtown is truly something that you will be glad you experienced.
