MARINA DEL REY
WORLD’S LARGEST MAN-MADE SMALL CRAFT HARBOR#1
BOATS THAT CALL THE HARBOR HOME6,500
OPENING OF MARINA1965
Marina Del Rey is in southwest California in Los Angeles County. The marina is unincorporated, but the surrounding area is all part of Los Angeles (the city). The area is obviously known for the boating, but also for offering plenty of activities for tourists, including restaurants, shopping, spas, parasailing, and paddle boarding.
  • BOATING

The boats docked in the harbor include many willing to share an experience. There are several operators who offer sunset cruises, sailing lessons, and fishing charters.

  • MARINA BEACH

Marina Beach is a clean and quiet beach with quick access to the harbor as well as shops and restaurants.

  • FISHERMAN'S VILLAGE

Fisherman’s Village feels more like Cape Cod than southern California. The design of the village was based off northeastern fishing towns. The village offers views of the marina while dining or shopping.

  • CHACE PARK

Burton W. Chace Park is a 10-acre park located right next to the marina. The park is well-maintained and offers great views of the boats coming into the harbor. The park offers some fun (and free) summer programming, including 4th of July fireworks and a summer concert series.

THE WEATHER
  • The weather is nice year-round (welcome to southern California), but winter high temps only reach the mid-60s. Not the best time if you're looking for a beach day.

  • Spring is mild and fairly dry. Temps only reach the high 60s, but there is plenty of sun.

  • Summer and early fall is the busy season. Summer is very dry, sunny nearly every day, and the marina is busy. Great weather if you don't mind the crowds.

  • Early fall is still warm and dry. Many people recommend September as the best time of year to visit.
