    The two most popular destinations are Grand Mesa and Colorado National Monument. Grand Mesa features lakes and forests. Colorado National Monument is a dramatic set of red rock cliffs and it is common to see wildlife.

  • Winters are warmer in Grand Junction than other parts of the state. This means that the outdoor activities aren't nearly as seasonal. People can golf throughout the winter. Winter is the slow season for tourists.

  • Spring is a fun time to visit as there are several barrel tasting events, which typically include food and wine pairings. Daily high temps in April and May are around 70 degrees.

  • Summers are hot and dry with daily high temps in the low 90s. The nights cool down to the low 60s, which is great for camping.

  • September is a great time to visit as it is the the grape harvest season. One of the popular events is the Colorado Mountain WineFest, which is a 4-day wine festival in September.
