Part of metro Las Vegas, Henderson has been voted one of the best places to live as well as one of the safest cities to visit. With a population of just over 300,000, the area is certainly bustling, not to mention full of a ton of things to do any season of the year.
Certainly, many come here to check out the casinos. However, given its central location in the Mojave Desert, Henderson really is a great place from which to explore the Vegas strip, the Hoover Dam, Lake Las Vegas and Lake Mead as well. Henderson is also a fairly historic town. The Water Street District provide visitors with a glimpse of the city’s colorful and artistic past.
  • THE LION HABITAT

Yes, right within the city limits tourists can visit the 8.5-acre ranch that is home to lions previously held at the MGM Grand Lion Habitat. You can take a tour, even be a trainer for a day. The Lion Habitat is a hugely popular attraction.

  • ART

Public art adorns just about every space you can imagine, especially in historic Henderson. From the eclectic bronze statues popping up in unexpected places, to the 5 ft tall St. Jude’s Hearts given to the city by the research hospital, Henderson’s creative spirit is apparent everywhere.

  • DINING

Even though the Vegas strip steals the show as far as culinary offerings, Henderson does have its fair share of terrific places to enjoy a delectable meal. Whether it’s pizza you crave or a four-star dinner, the city most definitely has a place that can accommodate.
