Corpus Christi, known as the Sparkling City by the Sea, is located in the South Texas Gulf Coast and boasts a population of well over 300,000. Perhaps it’s the scenic and active North Beach area that attracts so many, it could be the truly diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities here, or maybe it’s the world class fishing in Oso Bay and the Gulf of Mexico that draws people in. Any way you look at it, this is a region that is continuously growing and thriving.

The downtown is certainly what many would label eclectic. You can stroll through the Sports, Entertainment and Arts District (SEA), or visit the Marina Arts District; shopping, food, museums and entertainment are never in short supply.
  • ISLANDS

Two extremely popular areas within this city are Padre Island and Mustang Island. Noted for white sandy beaches, both areas draw in heavy spring break crowds, and both offer not only traditional beach day activities but some interesting wildlife as well. Padre Island is actually the second longest in the US after Long Island.

  • FOOD AND DRINK

From a robust food truck culture to some of the best seafood in Texas, foodies will have a ball exploring every culinary facet of the city. Tex Mex is a Corpus Christi staple, while beer and cocktails flow freely.

  • NORTH BEACH

Probably one of the most popular areas as far as tourism and attractions, North Beach features a concrete beach walk, the USS Lexington, the famous Aquarium as well as a gigantic ferris wheel from which you can take in the skyline.

THE WEATHER
  • Winter is mild and relatively dry. It is a little cool for many of the water activities as highs are in the upper-60s.

  • Spring is crowded during spring break. May is a fantastic time to visit as rates are cheap, crowds are thin and the weather is great.

  • Summer is the busy season and beaches are packed. Temps are in the low-90s.

  • Fall is the rainy season. September is the wettest month of the year. Late fall can be a decent time as it dries out and daily highs are still in the mid-70s.
