The City of Cowboys and Culture is certainly nothing if not about energy and fun. With a bustling downtown scene, a thriving artistic climate and the campus of the TCU Horned Frogs within five minutes of the central part of the city, Fort Worth keeps things very active. The most popular part of the city, Sundance Square, is a 35-block district that features tons of restaurants, shops, and galleries. You can spend all day wandering about and never run out of things to do.
For the outdoor enthusiast, the city has everything from championship golf, to the Texas Motor Speedway, to the Stockyard National Historic District which touts an authentic “western experience.” At heart, this is a frontier town from way back. They take great pride in their cowboy heritage.

    One thing you’re sure to learn about visiting this Texas city is cowboys. Stockyards National District does an incredible job of taking you back in time. There’s a twice daily cattle drive, a rodeo, the world’s largest honky tonk and even the Cowtown Opry. Put on your hat and boots and become a part of the city’s cowboy past.

  • THE CULTURAL DISTRICT

    The center of the city’s art and culture, this district plays home to a number of galleries, museums and performance venues. From the botanical gardens, to the Kimball Art Museum, to the Fort Worth Zoo, it has become an incredibly popular area to visit—one of the foremost art and culture districts in the US.

  • TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

    The city’s main campus, TCU is famous for its football. Competing in the Big 12 Conference, the team has been in 11 bowl games. They’ve turned out sever notable players, including a Heisman winner and an NFL MVP.

THE WEATHER
  • Winter is a bit of an off-season. Daily highs are in the upper 50s.

  • Spring and fall are the best seasons to visit. April and May have highs near 80.

  • Summers are hot. Daily highs are in the upper 90s. Not a bad time to avoid.

  • Fall is a great time in Fort Worth. School is back in session, and it is college football season. October highs are around 80 degrees.
