Their slogan: Two Cities – No Limits…Once upon a time competitors, Midland and Odessa are now working together to create a lively and engaging experience for residents and visitors alike. One of the fastest growing areas in the country, this metropolitan region is known as much for arts and culture as it is for sports and recreation.
Many come here to check out the Stonehenge replica—one of the only ones that is aligned with the Solstices. And while in the Midland-Odessa area, visitors also enjoy the Wagner Noel Arts Center, along with the Globe Theater, modeled after Shakespeare’s own.
  • THE METEOR CRATER

    One of three located in Texas, The Odessa Meteor Crater is a sight to see. At over 500 feet in diameter, the crater offers a close-up look at a rare phenomenon. Suspected to be about 63000 years old, the site is about 15 ft deep at its lowest point.

  • COLLEGE TOWN

    With 3 colleges in Odessa to include Univ. Of Texas of the Permian Basin, the area has taken on something of a funkier vibe in recent years. With eateries featuring names like 5 Star Donuts & Wings, you can get a sense of their carefree, casual culinary attitude. As far as the bar scene, you will find a diverse mix of pubs, clubs and microbreweries.

  • Odessa and Midland aren't exactly major tourism destinations any time of year. Spring and fall are the seasons with the best weather. April highs are near 80 degrees.

  • Summers are hot, with daily highs in the mid-90s.
