Having grown in popularity in the past five years as the home of America’s favorite HGTV ‘Fixer Upper’ couple, Waco today sees visitors pouring in to visit the one and only Magnolia Market. For home design enthusiasts this is a can’t-miss. Waco though is about more than just a television show. Located along the Brazos River, there is a seven-mile river walk along which visitors can eat, shop and even check out the zoo.
There is also Cameron Park which attracts serious bike enthusiasts, or you may want to visit the Bear Habitat or Hawaiian Falls Water Park. Whatever you’re planning to do while in Waco, you are certain to have a ton of fun doing it.
  • DISTILLERIES & BREWERIES

    The town is well known for its libations. Distilleries and wineries can be found throughout the region, while the craft beer industry seems to be booming here. Bare Arms Brewing and Brotherwell are two of the more popular craft brew names.

  • ANTIQUING

    As Fixer Upper has shown, there are some terrific finds in Waco—you just have to know where to look. Antique shops abounding, the city has some surprises waiting to be found. Laverty’s is one of the more well-known antique shopping venues.

  • FESTIVALS AND FAIRS

    The people of Waco know how to celebrate. From the Magnolia and Salsa Festival to the Heart o’ Texas Fair and Rodeo, there is always something going on somewhere in the region. Catch a film festival or dive into culture with their art fest. Waco has something to suit a multitude of tastes.

THE WEATHER
  • Winters are mild and relatively dry. The activity slows down a bit but the area does have many holiday events.

  • Spring has great weather and several festivals. May highs are in the mid-80s but it is the rainiest month of the year.

  • Summers are really hot, with temps regularly pushing towards 100 degrees.

  • Fall is a great time in Waco, especially on home game weekends for the Baylor football team. October highs are around 80 degrees.
