Home to Weber State, Ogden hast the feel of a college town. The aura here is a little eclectic, very energetic, and a bit historic as well. A pioneer settlement, Ogden offers plenty to transport visitors back to its earliest days. Visit 25th street, an area that grew up around the Transcontinental Railroad. Today, the city is still quite the thriving metropolis. Bars, restaurants, breweries, hotels and shops galore line the streets and immediately make visors feel welcomed.
As far as the outdoor side of the city, there are plenty of recreational activities available. During the summer, fish, swim and boat in the Ogden River. Hike the many canyons and mountain trails nearby. And in the winter, skiing is incredibly popular.     Historic 25th Street has been deemed by some the “most entertaining street in America.” So you can imagine how vibrant the night scene is in Ogden. From bars and clubs, to theaters and venues at which you can catch a live show, this town in some ways never sleeps.

    The people of Ogden love to celebrate. The city features a festival for just about every occasion during nearly every season. Foodie lovers will want to catch restaurant week. And for music aficionados, the Ogden Music Festival features some of the best up-and-coming, as well as established, singer/song writers in the country. The Harvest Moon celebration should not to be missed.

  • WINTERS IN OGDEN

    In many ways, this place is all about the winter fun. Portions of the 2002 Olympic downhill events were held here. With over 450 inches of snowfall each year, this is a skier’s paradise. Snowboarders, snowmobilers and tubers also flock to the region in the winter. There’s plenty of room for all!

THE WEATHER
  • Winter is a very busy time due to the abundance of snow sports. Ogden is close to several ski areas.

  • Spring is generally a bit slow, but the city comes to life in May as the weather begins to warm. The Ogden Marathon is in May and it draws a large crowd.

  • Summers are very popular. Temps spike to 90 degrees in July. The area is great for hiking and mountain biking.

  • Early fall can be a good time to see the changing of the colors. Late fall is a slow season as there isn't much to do until ski season kicks in.
