Situated on the shores of Bear Lake, Garden City is a small town with a definite resort vibe. This is due to the fact that the vibrant turquoise blue of Bear Lake, the scenic views of the canyons surrounding and the large expanses of wide open water make this area perfect for those who enjoy communing with the outdoors in every way possible
Garden City is not just for water enthusiasts either. The nearby Beaver Mountain resort area provides plenty of opportunity for some fantastic skiing.   • BEAR LAKE

    Known as the Caribbean of the Rockies, the lake immediately strikes visitors given the intensity of color. The color comes from the reflection of the limestone surrounding the water. People like to boat, fish, kayak, canoe and swim in this breathtaking body of water. In the winter, The Bear Lake Monster Winterfest attracts tons of tourists as they partake in everything from fishing to the polar plunge.

    Nearby Logan Canyon provides one of the best venues for cyclists looking to catch gorgeous scenery while enjoying an adventurous ride. There’s an over 30-mile trail that at certain sections overlooks the lake. The elevations throughout the trail range from 4500 ft to 7800 ft.

    Garden City is a great place to visit a vital part of the American past. There is a historic trail center right in the heart of Bear Lake Valley which offers an in-depth look at what the famed trail meant to those migrating to the west.

    Winter visitors come to ski Beaver Mountain. It is a small ski area, but it offers a solid variety of terrain.

  • Winter is a fun time to visit. Many visitors come to snowmobile the endless trails. Other activities include sledding, cross country skiing, and ice fishing. Also, Beaver Mountain (skiing) is only 15 miles away.

  • Spring is a slow season. The weather is too warm for winter sports but too cool for playing at the lake.

  • Summer is prime time for visiting because of all of the activity at Bear's Lake. July highs reach the mid-80s.

  • Early fall is beautiful but can be unpredictable. Visitors enjoy a quiet getaway to see the changing of the colors.
