Wenatchee sits in North Central Washington, at the confluence of the Columbia and Wenatchee rivers. Wenatchee is known as the “Apple Capital of the World” and every May the city hosts the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival. The city is also known for being a destination for outdoor explorers. The area has wineries, golf courses, a ski area, and a national forest.
  • RECREATION

    Wenatchee sits at a pretty great location for access to a wide variety of sports. During the summer, visitors take advantage of the trails for walking and biking, most notably the 10-mile Apple Capital Loop Trail. Rafting is also very popular. During the winter, Wenatchee has some good paths for cross country skiing. Also, Mission Ridge Ski Area is a quick 25-minute drive from town.

  • PERFORMING ARTS

    Wenatchee has a beautiful venue in the Numerica Performing Arts Center. The city has some other venues including the Music Theatre of Wenatchee and the Wenatchee Valley Symphony. For a city the size of Wenatchee, the options for performing arts are fantastic.

  • MINOR LEAGUE SPORTS

    Wenatchee has some solid minor league sports teams in the AppleSox (baseball), Rams (football), and Wild (ice hockey).

THE WEATHER
  • Winter is cold and fairly dry. Outdoor enthusiast visit in the winter for the cross country skiing or for downhill skiing in nearby Mission Ridge Ski Area.

  • Wenatchee is much dryer than the coastal Washington cities. Springs are mild. May high temps are typically in the 70s. Spring has lots of cool events such as the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival and the Tour de Bloom.

  • Summer is the peak time to visit. Temperatures get up to the upper 80s, and it is the dry season.

  • Mid-September through Mid-October is very nice time in Wenatchee as the early fall brings the changing of the colors. The weather is dry with temps around 70. Try to time a trip around their Oktoberfest celebration.
