TOP 10 WINERIES IN COLORADO
Colorado is known for its beer scene, but the state is also an underrated wine producer. Denver has an up-and-coming scene for "urban wineries". The western slope of Colorado is an established producer of great wines. Colorado has some of the highest elevation wineries in the world, with most in the state ranging between 4,000 and 7,000 feet above sea level. TripAdvisor named Palisade in their list of Top 10 Wine Destinations in the US.

Bigsby's Folly is such a hot new venue that we had to add them to the list. The venue is stunning and unique. For those couples looking for an nontraditional wedding venue, you must check this place out.

MEADERY OF THE ROCKIES (PALISADE)

If you are looking for some atypical wines, Meadery of the Rockies is a must. They specialize in "creatively inspired honey wines". Meadery of the Rockies has won awards from Colorado's prestigious Governor's Cup for their Strawberry Honey, Chocolate Cherry Honey, Apricot Honey, and Blackberry Satin.

DECADENT SAINT (BOULDER)

Decadent Saint is a super cool winery in Boulder. While they make their own traditional wines, they specialize in their ultimate mixers. These are basically a new category of alcohol mixers. A few that we love are their Spiced Dark Chocolate, Red Sangria, and White Sangria.

CARLSON VINEYARDS (PALISADE)

This small farm winery has been producing wine since 1988. Their Tyrannosaurus Red is one of our favorites from the entire state. They have a great tasting room made out of a 1930s era fruit packing shed.

SNOWY PEAKS WINERY (ESTES PARK)

This is a cool little winery in Estes Park that makes for a great wine tour. It is a family-friendly winery with a "No Wine-ing Zone" for kids to play. You can sample their own award-winning wines or a variety of outside wines that they carry.

WINERY AT HOLY CROSS ABBEY (CANON CITY)

This is a must-do experience if you plan on visiting the Royal Gorge. The tasting room is in an architectural gem that was built in 1911.

One of the best wineries in the best part of the state for making wine. Colorado Cellars is family owned and was founded in 1978. They take pride in being "Colorado's oldest, largest and most award-winning wine."

BOOKCLIFF VINEYARDS (BOULDER)

Bookcliff Vineyards won the 2016 "Best In Show" at the Colorado Wine Governor's Cup where they beat out 33 competitors. In addition to the top overall spot, they received individual awards for their Cabernet Franc Reserve, Syrah, and Ensemble.

Whitewater Hill has some of the most awarded wines from the state of Colorado. They have received major awards for their cab, shiraz, and sweetheart red.

INFINITE MONKEY THEOREM (DENVER)

IMT takes pride in being outside the box as far as winery culture goes. They are an urban winery based in Denver's booming RiNo district. Their slogan is "back alley winemaking at its finest". Infinite Monkey Theorem is making waves with their canned wines. The winery regularly hosts cool events from live music to oyster tastings.
